Indiana Amnesty

On May 12, 2005, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels signed into law H.B. 1004, which establishes an amnesty program for taxpayers having an unpaid adjusted gross income tax, sales and use tax, or other tax liability that was due and payable for a tax period ending before July 1, 2004. The amnesty program will be available from September 15 through November 15, 2005.

Penalties, interest, collection fees, and criminal and civil prosecution will be waived for delinquent taxpayers who take advantage of the amnesty opportunity. Eligible taxpayers who do not participate will be subject to double the penalty otherwise applicable.
